Homegoing Service for Maurice “Anthony” Jennings
📍 First Baptist Church of Crown Heights
We celebrate the life, legacy, and homegoing of Maurice Jennings, affectionately known as “Anthony.” A devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful family man, and friend to many, Anthony lived a life marked by perseverance, strength, devotion, and love.
Anthony was born on November 22, 1966, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, to the late Edward Williams and Nora Lee Jennings, and later moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he was educated in the New York City public school system and attended Automotive High School. Known for his quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering work ethic, Anthony was a man of few words but great impact—always willing to help others, open doors for family and friends, and stand firmly in responsibility and love.
On September 20, 1997, Anthony married the love of his life, the late Renee Champion Jennings, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage and raised three beautiful children: Sharisse, Lenaye, and Maurice. A proud grandfather lovingly called “Pop,” Anthony cherished time with his grandchildren and family, valuing togetherness above all.
Anthony peacefully entered eternal rest on January 18, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Renee, his sister Dorothy Ann Dixon, and his brother Bobby Lee Jennings. He leaves behind a legacy carried on by his children, grandchildren, extended family, and a host of loved ones who will forever honor his life and memory.
